Liberty & Deluxe Endorsements

Provides the most comprehensive packages of coverage features and enhancements available from The Philadelphia Contributionship. These are bundles of our most popular coverages that deliver confidence and security to your homeowner or condo policy. If you want your policy to respond to a wider menu of claim events, these endorsements will be right for you. Liberty and Deluxe allow TPC insureds to upgrade their policy with a basket of additional coverages and enhancements, rather than an a la carte approach. Not all TPC enhancements are included in these baskets of coverage, but many valuable coverages are included to better protect your home and personal property.

Service Line Coverage

Provides for the repair or replacement of underground systems that service the household, such as sewer lines, plumbing, electricity, and natural gas, as well as telecommunications and internet access. Service line coverage also includes the cost to replace landscaping, concrete work, and anything necessary to access the underground systems and restore the property to its pre-loss condition. Coverage limits of $10,000 or $15,000 are available at a very attractive annual cost, usually significantly lower than what’s available from your utility company.

Water Backup Coverage

When water backs up through a sewer or drain, or especially a sump pump, having this coverage is essential. Coverage limits start at $5,000 and can be increased to $50,000 or even more depending on where your home is located. You can use this limit to repair your home, but it also can be used to cover your damaged contents - a feature not all carriers provide!

Blanket Jewelry Coverage

Blanket Jewelry protects you from things like loss or theft, and we can tailor your coverage for limits from $5,000 up to $25,000. If no one item in your collection is valued over $5,000, a Blanket Jewelry option is likely right for you. And even better, we don’t require you to go through the hassle and expense of having each of your jewelry items appraised in order to have coverage. Blanket jewelry coverage is like buying a basket of jewelry insurance without the need to itemize each item in your jewelry box. As long as no one item is valued above $5,000, blanket jewelry insurance is a good option. There is no deductible for jewelry covered under the blanket jewelry endorsement. Limits range from $5,000 to $25,000.

Scheduled Personal Property

Typically for higher valued jewelry, but also for collections or other valuable items, we can add coverage for those possessions you value the most at a specified coverage amount per item. From jewelry, antiques, art, guns, or musical instruments, to stamp or coin collections, this coverage provides a broader array of protection than simply theft. Depending on the value of the item you want to insure, an appraisal from a specialist of your choosing may be required.

Equipment Breakdown Coverage

Sure, all policies cover things like a Central Heating and Air unit or your kitchen or laundry appliances for a claim due to fire, but if they simply break down and you don’t have a warranty, people find themselves paying for those repairs, or worse - paying for a replacement - out of pocket. If you tailor your policy with an Equipment Breakdown endorsement, you have up to $50,000 to cover these appliances, and we even pay to upgrade to a system that is more “green” than the appliance that you had! Even better, the coverage is super affordable when compared with the alternative of buying a warranty for each individual appliance in your home. Major household systems like your HVAC system are typically not covered for breakdowns caused by mechanical malfunctions, power surges, or other perils not typically included in a homeowners policy. Adding equipment breakdown coverage to your policy provides extra peace of mind that when a malfunction of a major household system occurs, your insurance policy is there to respond. Normal wear and tear are not covered by Equipment Breakdown coverage. This is not a warranty policy.

Identity Theft Coverage

Identity Theft can be a scary experience for those who are victimized. We provide up to $15,000 for expenses you incur to reclaim your identity, and most importantly, partner with a third-party identity recovery company to help guide you through the process.

Personal & Family Cyber Coverage (HO forms only)

Our modern online world has many emerging perils that aren’t covered by a typical homeowners, condo, or renters insurance policy. We have a package of protection for things like online fraud, intentional deception, system compromise, data breach, identity theft remediation, internet (reputational) clean-up, and cyberbullying. You can be reimbursed for costs associated with any of these troublesome events, plus we partner with third-party experts to guide you through the process of recovery.

Functional Replacement Cost

Do you have an older home and are looking to save money on insurance costs? At the time of a loss or damage to your property, would you accept replacing plaster walls with modern drywall, or a hand carved banister railing with a milled one from a lumber store? By selecting Functional Replacement Cost, not only does the cost to rebuild or repair your home decrease, so too does the cost associated with insuring your home. This is most commonly used for older homes where construction materials and labor are much higher in order to closely match the obsolete construction methods and materials used in the original construction.

Assisted Living Coverage (HO forms only)

When a family member, whether a parent or a member of your household, needs to move into an assisted living facility, the last thing they want to worry about is insurance. As an enhancement to your TPC policy, you can add coverage for their belongings at the assisted living facility, even though they aren’t living with you. You become the caretaker of their insurance coverage, so they can focus on their recovery.

Cohabitation Endorsement (HO forms only)

If you are living with a roommate or a housemate, and aren’t legally married or in a civil partnership, but want to avoid the hassle of having two individual policies to cover your joint belongings and joint liability, add this coverage to help you avoid the costly mistake of finding out that part of your claim might not be covered after the fact.

Sinkhole Coverage (HO forms Only)

Typical policies don’t cover damage to your home when the ground beneath it moves. Sinkholes happen when water deteriorates certain types of rocks deep underground, and if your home is built over it, it can damage your foundation and your home. We have an affordable solution for these events if sinkholes are prevalent in your area.

Earthquake

Typical policies don’t cover damage to your home when the ground beneath it moves, especially from an earthquake. While the east coast is not well known for earthquakes, they do occur, and it doesn’t take much to damage a home when the ground beneath it moves. We have an affordable solution for earthquake damage that considers that these events are quite costly.

Ordinance and Law

Building codes today are far more complex and stringent than they were in decades past. When parts of your home need to be repaired or replaced, you want those repairs to meet all of the current safety standards, and that often costs more to complete. Most policies provide some protection for these kinds of code upgrades, but it is limited. TPC offers the ability to increase the amount available for code upgrades so those repairs can last a lifetime. The older your home, the more likely it is that you’d need more coverage to rebuild to code. That’s why you should consider higher limits of this valuable coverage.

Refrigerated Property Coverage

When storms take out the power, it’s everyone’s first instinct to keep the food in the refrigerator and freezer cold, but when the power’s out for a long time, there’s often not much one can do. Don’t worry about whether your expensive groceries are going bad. Just get coverage for your refrigerated/frozen perishables and replace it all when you add this coverage that has a low deductible and low price tag.

Personal Injury

Let’s face it, we live in a world today where things we say or post online can be taken the wrong way. Coverage for libel or slander are just two parts of this optional coverage. Personal injury liability also provides for violations of rights of privacy, false arrest, and/or malicious prosecution.

Replacement Cost on Contents

While most homeowners policies provide coverage for personal belongings, not all include this important coverage enhancement called Replacement Cost on Contents coverage. In simple terms, this coverage allows the policyholder to replace a 5-year-old television with a brand new one. When the damaged property is covered, your indemnification is based on today’s cost for like and kind quality of the property to be replaced without depreciation.
