We currently have an opening in our IT Department for a Jr. Systems Administrator who will help assure the efficient operation of all network and computer systems and will be involved with performing system administration of desktop, laptop and server systems as well as assisting in solving end user problems and providing end user training where required.

Responsibilities of a Jr. Systems Administrator:

  • Manage agency relationships in the region to assure profitable growth of both new and renewal business.
  • Troubleshooting and addresses software related issues, requests, and defects. Performs identification, investigation, analysis, solution design, solution implementation, and resolution as necessary.
  • Provides support and resolves issues via remote web conference, chat, telephone, email, or in person to all end users
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Communicates and collaborates with staff members as needed concerning software and system changes and maintenance, in meetings, electronically, and through maintaining issue tracking and project management software.
  • Manages and administers domain, network, server, desktop, laptop, printers, and telecommunications hardware and software.
  • Works with Systems Administrators to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral devices and their associated operating systems and software.
  • Works with Systems Administrators to manage all network servers, including e-mail, print and backup servers. Manage all network hardware and equipment, including upgrades and repairs to servers, routers, switches, hubs, UPS, etc
  • Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.
  • Manage security including user accounts, permissions, and access rights; firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems; and perform security audits and system backups
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  • Practice network asset management, including network design and capacity planning; maintenance of network component inventory; related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports, test backup recovery strategy with offsite business partner at least once a year.
  • Prioritize and schedule resolutions with IT Operations Team. Escalate problems as required to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Record, track, and document the Service Desk request problem-solving process. Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.
  • Managing and performing IT services such as daily system health checks, system backups, and IT-related invoices and check requests.

Hiring requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach with significant attention to detail.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience. Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows 2012-2019 Server, Office 365 Management, VMWare ESX
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office & Office 365, working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Windows 10 desktop experience.
